Overview
RDS 10 #L1847φ 12.7 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader rods, and its products are widely recognized around the world. This model adopts winding process and is suitable for Spreaders of various substrates. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating and cost economy.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used.
3. Steel wire can be disbonded and rewound, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
4. Available in a variety of diameters and wire sizes, and can be customized to meet specific needs.
5. Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and economical, can quickly adjust the coating weight and Film thickness.
Principle
The Working Principle of the Applicator rod is based on the "Mayer rod coating method". The wires are wound around the main rod at precise intervals, and the voids (cavities) between the wires determine the film thickness of the wet coating. As the paint flows through the rod, excess paint is scraped off by the wire, and the paint retained in the voids is transferred to the substrate, resulting in a uniform, Film thickness controlled coating.
Applications
Paint, window film, tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod, molding rod, etc.).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that the clamping is stable.
3. Adjust the Spreader parameters (e.g. pressure, speed) so that the paint flows evenly through the Metering rod.
4. Start the device for Spreader, Metering rod will scrape off excess paint to form a wet-film of predetermined Film thickness on the substrate.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the rod body in time to prevent the paint from drying up and blocking.
Notice
• Before use, please confirm that the Metering rod model (such as wire winding, forming, notching, etc.) matches the coating viscosity and required film thickness.
• When installing, make sure that the clamping length meets the equipment requirements (such as 18.5mm on the left and 10.5mm on the right), and it is firmly fixed.
• Spreader process, pay attention to control the coating supply and substrate tension, in order to obtain uniform coating.
• After use, the rod body should be thoroughly cleaned in time, especially the steel wire gap, to prevent the residual coating curing from causing blockage or affecting the next Spreader effect.
• The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound to prolong the service life, but the operation should be careful to avoid damage to the rod body or steel wire.
• For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched or double-wound rods to reduce the risk of clogging.
