UK Thermax Irreversible Thermometric Paper (Model: 4 Grid E) is a series of temperature test labels that record the highest temperature reached by the label. These self-adhesive Thermometric Papers consist of a series of temperature-sensitive elements, sealed between heat-resistant substrates with transparent windows. Each element changes Color significantly and irreversibly when it exceeds the rated temperature, providing a temperature history of the surface being monitored. Thermometric Papers use the precise melting point of specially purified organic chemicals to produce High Accuracy Color changes. When the rated temperature is exceeded, the chemical melts and is absorbed by the substrate, resulting in irreversible Color changes.

Principle

Thermometric Paper's temperature-sensitive components utilize the precise melting points of a range of specially purified organic chemicals to produce a unique, High Accuracy Color Change effect. Each temperature point uses a different compound, manufactured individually by applying a coating containing that chemical to a special absorbent paper substrate. When the rated temperature is exceeded, the chemical melts and is absorbed by the substrate, resulting in an irreversible Color Change.
