Overview
The TRUIT TR 1001/2 Zahn Cup (also known as the Zahn Cup) is a viscosity measurement tool produced by Tenrui Zhike and is designed according to ASTM D 4212 standards. It is used to quickly determine the viscosity of Newtonian or near-Newtonian liquids. It can be used anywhere in the production site or laboratory. It is widely used in related industries such as inks, Coating, varnish and printing. The TR 1001 series offers a variety of pore size specifications to meet different application needs.
Features
1. Designed in accordance with ASTM D 4212 standards.
2. Suitable for rapid determination of the viscosity of Newtonian or near-Newtonian liquids;
3. It can be used anywhere, such as at the production site or in the laboratory.
4. TR 1001 series offers a variety of pore size options;
5. The diameter of the flow hole is 2.74mm, the outflow time is 20 to 80 seconds, and the viscosity range is 20 to 250cSt.
Principle
The Zain Cup determines the viscosity by measuring the time it takes for the liquid to flow out of the standard aperture. In the specific operation, the liquid flows out of the flow hole under the action of gravity, records the flow time, and estimates the viscosity value of the liquid (e.g. 20~ 250cSt) according to the predefined range (e.g. 20~ 80 seconds) and the pore size specification (e.g. 2.74mm).
Applications
Inks, Coatings, varnishes, printing
Steps
Select the appropriate Zain cup model (e.g. TR 1001/2).
2. Pour the liquid into the cup.
3. Record the time when the liquid completely flows out of the flow hole.
4. According to the outflow time and pore size specifications, refer to the viscosity range to determine the liquid viscosity.
Notice
- Only suitable for Newtonian or near-Newtonian liquids.
Make sure the outflow time is within the range of 20 to 80 seconds.
- Check whether the flow hole is clean and free of blockage before use.
- Choose the appropriate pore size according to the liquid viscosity.
