Overview
The TR 5105/1 Benchtop Pencil hardness tester is a manual Pencil hardness tester of the TRUIT brand. It evaluates film Hardness by pencil scratch. It is equipped with three test loads of 500g, 750g and 1000g, which can be selected according to the needs. Hardness is assessed according to the degree of damage by applying pressure on the film surface using standard pencil scratch. The instrument is simple and easy to use, suitable for rapid assessment and quality control in the Coatings, paints and coatings industry. It can be used in the laboratory or on the construction site and can identify film Hardness in any direction.
Features
1. Manual operation design, easy to use
2. Equipped with three test loads of 500g, 750g and 1000g, which can be selected according to requirements
3. 13 Chinese pencils are standard, and standard testing tools are provided
4. Platform size 120x80mm, suitable for a variety of sample sizes
5. Can be used in laboratories and construction sites, support any direction Hardness identification
Principle
The instrument consists of a pencil holder and a test bench. The pencil holder and the column form a four-bar structure to ensure that the weight weight acts vertically on the intersection of the pencil lead and the test bench, and keeps the pencil and the test bench at a 45 ° angle. The test bench can move laterally and vertically, fix the Coating sample and slide it in the direction of scratch, and the pencil draws a track on the test piece. By changing different pencils to draw different marks, the film Hardness value is determined.
Steps
1. Select the appropriate load (500g, 750g or 1000g)
2. Install standard pencil to pencil holder
3. Fixed Coating Sample on Test Bench
4. Adjust the test bench to slide the sample in the direction of scratch
5. Apply pressure for scratch test
6. Observe the degree of scratch damage and evaluate Hardness value
7. Switch pencils, sex repeability test to confirm results
