Overview
PUSHEN XB-II 40μm Mayer Rods is a laboratory tool for preparing wet-film. Stainless steel wire is wound to form grooves to control wet film thickness, which can be prepared for 40 μm wet-film. The total length is 400mm, and the effective application width is 300mm. It is suitable for plastics, inks and other industries. The stainless steel material ensures a long service life.
Features
1. It is very suitable for thin coatings of Spreader, such as can Coatings and paper Coatings.
2. wet film thickness engraved at the end for easy identification.
3. Ideal for soft materials such as paper, Cardboard, foil, leather, test cardboard, Spinning & weaving products.
4. The rod and winding are made of high-grade wear-resistant stainless steel.
Principle
The laboratory bar uses stainless steel wires to wrap around its surface to form grooves, and prepares films of different thicknesses through the gaps between the wires. The wet film thickness calculation formula is: wet film thickness = Coating Weight g/(density × Solid content%) per square meter, but the actual thickness is affected by factors such as product elongation, viscosity, coating rod type, etc.
Applications
Paints, varnishes, inks, glues, plastics
Steps
1. Select the appropriate coating rod model.
2. Calculate the wet film thickness according to the formula.
3. Spreader evenly over the sample using a coating rod.
Notice
* The calculation formula of wet film thickness is for reference only. The actual thickness is affected by various factors such as product ductility, viscosity, coating rod type, etc.
Samples need to be uniform and comparable, with precise thickness control to ensure Test Reliability.
