This instrument adopts the thickness measurement method of magnetic principle, which can measure the film thickness (such as aluminum, chromium, copper, enamel, rubber, paints, etc.) of the nonmagnetic cover layer on the magnetic metal substrate (such as iron, cobalt, nickel). When the F-type probe is in contact with the cover layer, the probe and the magnetic metal substrate form a closed magnetic circuit. Due to the existence of the nonmagnetic cover layer, the magnetic circuit magnetoresistance changes, and the film thickness of the cover layer can be measured by the change amount of its magnetoresistance. At the same time, the eddy Current measurement principle can be used to measure the film thickness (such as enamel, rubber, paints, plastics, etc.) of the nonconductive coating layer on the nonmagnetic metal substrate (such as copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, etc.). When the N-type probe is in contact with the covering layer, an electromagnetic field is generated in the coil by the high-frequency alternating current, and the eddy Current is generated on the metal substrate, and the feedback effect is generated on the coil in the probe. Film thickness of the covering layer can be derived by measuring the size of the feedback effect.
