Overview
The QFH 1 * 10mm Cross Hatch Cutter is a special tool for testing the adhesion of coatings, evaluating the adhesion between coatings and substrates by making a cross-cut on the surface of the paint. The product has 11 cutter heads with 1mm spacing between the cutter teeth. It is made of Cr12MoV high-carbon and high-chromium tool steel and meets ISO, GB, ASTM standards.
Features
1. The cutter head is made of Cr12MoV high carbon and high chromium tool steel, which has good hardness, Abrasion Resistance, corrosion resistance and deformation resistance.
Principle
The principle of the Cross Hatch Cutter is based on the adhesion between the paint and the substrate. Cross-cut is made by scratching the surface of the paint and then assessing whether the paint at the cross-cut adheres firmly to the substrate using appropriate tools such as disbonding tape to determine whether the adhesion of the coating meets the expected standard. This 1mm pitch multi-edged cutter is suitable for hard substrates (metals) with film film thickness < 60μm.
Applications
Coatings, paints, coatings and other fields
Standards
GB/T 9286、ISO2409、ASTM D 3002、ASTM D 3359
Steps
1. Place the Cross Hatch Cutter on the painted surface.
2. Run the paint with the appropriate force to form a set of cross cutting lines.
3. Cover the surface of the paint with tape and tear it off quickly.
4. Observe whether the paint at the cross-cut is damaged or disbonding.
Notice
• The 1mm pitch cutter head is suitable for hard substrates (metals) with film Film thickness < 60μm.
• When testing, the pitch and angle of the rake should be selected according to specific standards and test requirements.
• When using tape disbonding, it is necessary to operate quickly to accurately assess adhesion.
