Overview
The Defelsko PosiTector 6000 FNS3 Coating thickness gauge is a magnetic and nonmagnetic dual-function advanced Coating thickness gauge produced by Defelsko in the United States. It can be used to measure the thickness of nonconductive coatings on non-ferrous metals and nonmagnetic coatings on ferrous metals. The instrument uses a high contrast ratio color LCD screen. Measurement range is 0 to 1500 microns, and data can be transmitted via USB and Bluetooth wireless technology.
Features
1. Bifunctional type: suitable for nonmagnetic coatings on ferrous metals and nonconductive coatings on non-ferrous metals measurement
2. High contrast ratio color LCD
3. Measurement range 0~ 1500 microns
4. Data can be transferred via USB and Bluetooth wireless technology
5. Automatic conversion Measurement mode
6. Protection Rating IP65
7. Measurement speed 180 + readings per minute
8. Large data storage capacity, can store 250,000 Measured values and 1000 packets
9. Equipped with icon function and statistical function
Principle
The PosiTector 6000 FNS3 Coating thickness gauge uses magnetic Induction and eddy Current Measurement principles. For nonmagnetic coatings on ferrous metal substrates, the magnetic Induction principle is used for measurement; for nonconductive coatings on non-ferrous metal substrates, the eddy Current principle is used for measurement. The instrument can automatically switch Measurement modes on magnetic and nonmagnetic environments.
Applications
Iron metallic coating measurement, non-ferrous metallic coating measurement
Standards
ISO 2178、ISO 2360、ISO 2808、PrEN ISO 19840、ASTM B499、ASTM D1186、ASTM D1400、ASTM D7091、ASTM E376、ASTM G12、BS3900-C5、SSPC-PA2
Steps
1. Measurement mode according to substrate type
2. Place the Probe perpendicular to the tested surface
3. Take measurements
4. Transfer data via USB or Bluetooth
5. Data analysis with PosiSoft software suite
Notice
• Make sure Probe is perpendicular to the measured surface for measurement
• Need to calibrate before use
• Pay attention to distinguish between ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates
• Regularly check the battery level
Avoid use in extreme environments
