Overview
The HI97749 Hexavalent Chromium/Chromate/Dichromate [LR] Portable Photometer is an instrument for the measurement of chromium (Cr) content in water. It is designed to detect the concentration of hexavalent chromium in industrial wastewater, ensuring that legal limits are not exceeded, protecting the environment and human health. The instrument meets IP67 waterproof standards and is designed with an innovative Optical inspection system with good accuracy and repeatability. It has built-in CAL CheckTM function for performance verification and calibrating. It supports GLP display, battery status indication and automatic shutdown.
Features
1. LED high-quality Illuminant system, providing good performance and high luminous efficiency;
2. Optical inspection filter to ensure measurement Stability and accuracy, reduce wavelength error;
3. Unique reference detector for rapid stabilization of blank and sample measurement readings;
4. Stable Illuminant Settings to Reduce Errors and Reading Offsets Caused by Glass Colorimetric Cup Defects;
5. CAL CheckTM function, allowing performance verification and calibrating using NIST traceability standards;
6. Built-in Reaction Timer to ensure consistent sample measurement results;
7. Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) display, record end-user calibrated date and time;
8. Battery status indicator and automatic shutdown settings, energy saving and environmental protection.
Principle
The HI97749 Portable photometer is based on the ASTM D1687 diphenylcarbazide method for measurement, using an LED Illuminant to illuminate the sample at a wavelength of 525nm. Absorbance changes are detected by a silicon Illuminant and Optical inspection filter to calculate the hexavalent chromium concentration. The unique reference detector ensures fast and stable blank and sample measurements, and the stable Illuminant setting reduces the impact of Colorimetric cup defects for High Accuracy and repeatability measurements.
Applications
Industrial wastewater treatment, environment monitoring, water quality control
Standards
IP67 waterproof standard, ASTM D1687 method standard
Steps
1. Preparation of Samples and Reagents;
2. Use CAL CheckTM function for instrument performance verification and calibrating;
3. Carry out blank (zero) measurement;
4. Add the sample to the reaction cup and start the built-in reaction Timer;
5. Put the reaction cup into the instrument and read the measurement results;
6. The instrument automatically stores the last 50 measurement data;
7. After use, the instrument will automatically shut down after 15 minutes without operation.
Notice
• Ensure that the instrument is used at 0 to 50 ° C Ambient Temperature;
• Avoid prolonged exposure to high Humidity environments, although RH-max 100% is supported;
• Regularly use the CAL CheckTM function to verify instrument performance;
• Powered by AA batteries, pay attention to the battery status indicator;
• Follow the GLP specification when operating, record the calibrated date;
• Ensure that the reaction cup is clean and defect-free before measurement;
• The operation needs to be restarted after the instrument automatically shuts down.
