Overview
RDS Mayer Rods is a professional tool used in the Coating inks industry for preparing samples to determine film hiding power or color performance. RDS #36 1/2 "Applicator rod adopts wire-wound production process, application width is 30cm, film thickness is 82.3μm. With its high quality, mature process technology and decades of industry experience, it occupies an important market share and is well received by users at home and abroad.
Features
1. Adopt wire-wound production process to ensure film uniformity;
2. The application width is fixed at 30cm, suitable for standard test requirements;
3. The film thickness is accurate to 82.3 μm, meeting professional measurement requirements;
4. Made of stainless steel, it is durable and easy to clean.
5. The total length is 400mm, the grip width is 50 + 50mm, and the operation is comfortable and convenient.
Principle
RDS Mayer Rods uses stainless steel wire to precisely control the Spreader thickness of the coating on the substrate during the Spreader process through a wire-wound design. As the rod rolls on the substrate surface, the wire gap determines the film thickness, thus preparing a uniform sample for performance testing.
Applications
Coatings industry, inks industry
Steps
1. Prepare Coatings and Substrates to be Tested;
2. Place the RDS Mayer Rods at the beginning of the substrate.
3. Coating is evenly applied in front of the rod body;
4. Roll the coating applicator at a steady speed to cover the entire application width;
5. After completion of Spreader, remove coating applicator and drying sample;
6. Use the sample for performance measurement such as hiding power or color.
Notice
• Ensure that the surface of the coating applicator and substrate is clean before operation to avoid contamination affecting the test results;
• Spreader to maintain uniform force and speed to ensure film thickness conformity;
• Clean the coating applicator in time after use to prevent Coating residue from damaging the equipment;
Store in a drying environment to avoid stainless steel rusting.
• Only use by professionals under appropriate conditions to avoid errors caused by improper operation.
