Overview
American RDS No. 3 Mayer Rods Model 3 #1/2 "is mainly used for preparing coatings of about 7 microns, suitable for precise wet film thickness control in Coatings, inks and most fluid industries. The product uses a wire-wound production process, with a diameter of 12.7mm, a total length of 400mm, a width application of 300mm, a grip width of 50 + 50mm, the material is stainless steel, and the wire diameter is 0.08mm.
Features
1. Precise control of wet film thickness of about 7 microns
2. Using the wire-wound production process, the diameter of the steel wire is only 0.08mm, which is equivalent to the thickness of a hair
3. Stainless steel material, strong durability
4. Provide a variety of diameters and process models to choose from
5. The application width is 300mm, easy to operate
Principle
RDS No. 3 Mayer Rods form a uniform gap on the surface of the rod body through precision-wound thin steel wires. When the coating rod rolls on the substrate, the fluid material is evenly scraped through the steel wire gap to form a wet-film of a specific thickness. The wet film thickness is determined by the diameter of the wire, and the 0.08mm steel wire can be prepared for a wet-film of about 6.9μm.
Applications
Coatings, inks, fluid industry
Notice
• The diameter of the steel wire is only 0.08mm, which is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. It is recommended to use magnifying glass for observation
• When using, avoid misoperation, improper cleaning and bumping to prevent wire breakage
• Coating Weight loss may be different for coating rods with different diameters and processes although the wet film thickness is the same
• Select the appropriate model according to Spreader substrate Hardness and usage habits
