Overview
RDS #90 Molded Applicator rod 1/4 "is a molded coating rod in the RDS Mayer Rods series with a diameter of 1/4 inch. This product is consistent with the wire-wound coating rod in material, accuracy and scope of application. The wet film thickness of the same model of RDS Mayer Rods is the same. It is widely used in experimental testing of levelling, sag, color matching, color fixing, hiding power, fingerprint resistance, etc. It is suitable for various viscosity Coatings, inks, emulsion, etc.
Features
1. Adopt formed production process to ensure accuracy and conformity
2. Made of stainless steel, durable and easy to clean
3.The wet film thickness is fixed to 205.7 μm, which is convenient for standardized experiments
4. The application width reaches 300mm to improve the experimental efficiency
5. The handle width is designed to be 50 + 50mm, providing comfortable and stable operation
Principle
RDS molded Mayer Rods are manufactured by a formed process in which the rod is rolled or dragged over the substrate to form a uniform wet-film. The design of the groove depth and shape controls the thickness of the Spreader, ensuring consistent wet film thickness for each experiment, making it suitable for accurate coating performance testing.
Applications
Levelling test, sag test, color matching test, color fixing test, hiding power test, fingerprint resistance test, Coating test, inks test, emulsion test
Steps
1. Prepare the sample and substrate for testing
2. Place the coating rod at the starting end of the substrate
3. Apply pressure evenly and move the coating rod smoothly
4. Check wet-film uniformity after finishing Spreader
5. Clean coating rod for next use
Notice
* Make sure the coating rod is clean and free of contamination before use
* Maintain uniform force during operation to avoid uneven thickness
* Avoid contact with corrosion substances to extend service life
* Store in drying environment to prevent rusting
