Overview
The LX-E hardness gauge is an E-type rubber hardness gauge produced by HBO, which is suitable for the measurement of the Hardness of medium hard bodies, rubber or microporous materials, such as industrial rubber rollers, sealing strips, soles, etc. It is especially suitable for the measurement of thin or curved samples, and is recommended for hardness of materials > 90HA, < 20HD occasions. The hardness gauge can be used in hand or with a fixed load test bench.
Features
1. Suitable for medium hard resilience, rubber or microporous materials.
2. Especially suitable for measurement of thin or curved specimens.
3. Recommended for hardness of materials > 90HA, < 20HD occasions.
4. Support two ways of using the handheld or supporting test bench.
Principle
This hardness gauge is performed according to the American ASTM D2240 standard and corresponds to the Type E hardness gauge. It characterizes the Hardness of a material by the measurement of the depth of indentation of the stylus at a specific pressure.
Applications
Industrial rubber roller, sealing strip, sole, hard resilience
Standards
American ASTM D2240
Steps
1. According to the measurement needs, choose handheld or installed on the LAC-J hardness gauge test stand.
2. Align the hardness gauge needle vertically and smoothly contact the surface of the sample.
3. Apply pressure and read the Hardness value after the indication is stable.
Notice
• Make sure the surface of the sample is flat and clean before measurement.
• Keep the hardness gauge perpendicular to the surface of the sample during measurement.
• For materials outside the Recommended Hardness Range (> 90HA, < 20HD), measurement results may not be accurate.
• Measurement accuracy is regularly calibrated using E-type standard Hardness blocks.
• When using the supporting test bench, ensure that the installation is stable.
