Principle
The instrument works through the destructive Measurement principle: after the illumination is turned on, the Microscope displays the micron scale, and the user aligns the zero scale at the beginning of the scratch according to the cut angle of the cutting tool for calculation. For cross-cut testing, use the cutting tool to scratch the grid pattern and brush or stick the tape, and use the Microscope to observe and evaluate; for Buchholz Cuan hardness testing, combine the Cang knife and the load weight, and measure the length after Cang.

Steps
1. Turn on the lighting, Microscope display scale
2. Estimate Coating thickness, choose the right cutting tool
3. Align the zero scale at the beginning of scratch and calculate the thickness according to the scale
4. For the cross-cut test, brush or tape after scratching the grid pattern and observe with a microscope
5. For Crain test, install load weight, Crain measurement length after 30 seconds
Notice
• When scratching is not straight, multiple parts need to be measured to calculate the average value to improve the accuracy
• If each coating Color is different, the thickness of each layer can be determined
• Brush the cross-cut area five times according to DIN ISO method, or use tape according to ASTM method
• Cutting tests require precise control of time and load
