Overview
The PUSHEN KTQ-II/25204 Micrometer Film Applicator is a precision device for planar substrate Spreaders that controls wet film thickness by adjusting the drawdown blade gap through two differentiators at the upper end of the swirl/spin. The film applicator application width is 200mm with an accuracy of +/- 2μm. It is suitable for high viscosity and high concentration Coatings to achieve uniform film.
Features
1. Spreader uniform wet film thickness on planar substrate.
2. The film thickness range is 0~ 3500 μm, Graduation is 10 μm.
3, with extended edge, can be folded in the film process Coating, suitable for high viscosity and high concentration Coating film.
Principle
Spreader thickness is controlled by adjusting drawdown blade clearance through swirl/spin differentiator, and Coating with extended edge is used to ensure uniform film.
Steps
1. Place the Micrometer Film Applicator on a flat Testing substrate surface and adjust the drawdown blade to the desired gap (approximately twice the desired wet film thickness).
In the front section of the film knife, pour a small amount of test sample between the end plates at a slow and uniform speed (1~ 2cm/s).
3. Move the Micrometer Film Applicator until the Coating is fully coated and any remaining Coating has been removed from the end of the film path.
4. The actual coated wet-film should be measured using a wet film thickness gauge and the gap adjusted until the desired wet film thickness is achieved.
Notice
• The exact ratio of wet film thickness to any film knife gap depends on the material used, the viscosity and texture of the liquid, the force applied to the film knife, the film speed, and the geometry of the film edges.
• Clean and dry with appropriate solvent immediately after use.
• Both ends of the drawdown blade move in the slot, which needs to be kept free of sample material at all times.
• Differentiators need to be repositioned occasionally to correct for abrasion or misalignment. Adjustments can be made by loosening rather than removing the two hidden set screws of each differentiator, allowing the assembly to be lowered or raised.
