Test of physical and chemical properties of surface films of furniture—Part 3: Determination of resistance to dry heat

This document specifies a unified test method for assessing the resistance of furniture surface coatings to dry heat. It applies to various types of cured and coated furniture surfaces. By exposing the coatings to controlled dry heat conditions, it evaluates whether defects such as discoloration, loss of gloss, indentation, blistering, or cracking occur. This provides a basis for evaluating the heat resistance quality of furniture coatings. The test requires the use of a dry heat resistance tester, a high-temperature oven, and a precision thermometer, supplemented by a gloss meter and grayscale cards for result determination. The instruments must have accurate temperature control and stable test conditions to ensure data repeatability and result comparability. This method is widely used in quality control during furniture production, factory inspections, and market sampling checks, ensuring the appearance and performance stability of products under daily high-temperature contact scenarios.
