GB/T 3903.29-2022 "Footwear — Test methods for outsoles — Split tear strength and interlayer peel strength" is a modification of the international standard ISO 20875:2018. This standard specifies test methods for two key mechanical properties of footwear outsole materials: split tear strength and interlayer peel strength. Among them, split tear strength primarily assesses the material's ability to resist further tearing of an existing notch (split) under force, while interlayer peel strength is used to evaluate the bonding strength between layers of multi-layer composite outsole materials. The core instrument required to perform the tests according to this standard is a tensile testing machine, which must comply with the requirements of GB/T 16825.1, achieve an accuracy class of 2, and be equipped with fixtures capable of moving at a constant speed of (100 ± 10) mm/min. Additionally, a split holder and a splitting knife for creating the initial notch are essential auxiliary equipment.
