GB/T 5137.1-2020
Test methods of safety glazing materials used on road vehicles—Part 1: Mechanical properties tests

GB/T 5137.1-2020 was implemented on February 1, 2021, replacing the old version. It specifies seven mechanical performance test methods for automotive safety glass, including impact resistance, penetration resistance, fragmentation state, and headform impact tests, applicable to various types of automotive safety glass testing. The tests must be conducted in an environment of 20℃±5℃ and relative humidity of 40%-80%. Core instruments such as the falling ball impact tester, universal material testing machine, and surface stress meter are used to verify the impact resistance, wear resistance, and post-breakage safety of the glass through standardized procedures. This standard provides a unified basis for quality control of the mechanical performance of automotive safety glass and serves as an important technical support for ensuring driving safety.
