This standard applies to artificial leather and synthetic leather, specifying the principles for determining tensile load and elongation at break, as well as the requirements for the strip method (Method A), the grab method (Method B), the dumbbell-shaped specimen method (Method C), and the test report. By stretching standard specimens at a constant rate of 200 mm/min until fracture, the maximum load and elongation at break are recorded to evaluate the mechanical properties of the material. The standard supports both dry and wet state testing. Relevant testing instruments include a tensile testing machine meeting the requirements (with grip spacing and width adapted to different methods), a dedicated punching die, and for wet testing, a constant temperature water bath apparatus and distilled water. These are paired with a data acquisition system to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
