Test methods for aluminium and aluminium alloy foils-Part 7:Determination of heat seal strength

This standard specifies the method for determining the heat-seal strength of aluminum foil commonly used in pharmaceutical packaging. It applies to the adhesive layer of blister packaging formed by bonding aluminum foil with rigid sheets such as PVC and PVDC. The core of the method involves evaluating the strength by measuring the force required to separate the adhesive layer through tensile testing. Implementing this standard requires two key types of instruments: a heat-seal tester for preparing standard heat-seal specimens under specific temperature, pressure, and time conditions; and an intelligent electronic tensile testing machine (or a dedicated heat-seal strength tester) for accurately separating the specimens and recording the maximum force value, typically at a test speed of approximately 200 mm/min.
