This standard is the first national product standard for biaxially oriented polyethylene films in China, aimed at unifying the quality evaluation system and filling the industry gap. It applies to films produced from polyethylene resin using the planar biaxially oriented process, specifying technical requirements in areas such as classification, appearance, dimensions, and physical-mechanical properties. It also describes corresponding test methods, inspection rules, and packaging and transportation requirements. When conducting physical-mechanical performance tests as stipulated in the standard, a universal material testing machine is typically used to measure indicators such as tensile strength. Additionally, instruments such as a moisture permeability tester, thickness gauge, haze meter, and gloss meter are employed to evaluate barrier properties, thickness, and optical performance, respectively. The implementation of this standard helps promote the standardized application of this high-strength, high-transparency film material, which is suitable for packaging applications such as food and enables single-material recycling.
