GB/T 30789.6-2015 "Paints and varnishes—Evaluation of degradation of coatings—Designation of quantity and size of defects, and of intensity of uniform changes in appearance—Part 6: Assessment of degree of chalking by tape method" provides a tape method assessment scheme for coating chalking. During the test, a self-adhesive transparent tape with a width of at least 15 mm is pressed onto the surface of the dry coating and then peeled off vertically. The tape with adhered powder is placed against a contrasting background, and the degree of chalking is assessed under stable lighting conditions by comparing it with standard diagrams. Alternatively, quantitative determination can be performed by comparing the transmittance of the powder-adhered tape with that of an unused tape using photoelectric instruments. This method is applicable to situations where powder adheres uniformly, and testing should avoid previously adhered areas to ensure accuracy.
