GB/T 13217.3-2022 "Test Method for Fineness of Ink" is applicable to paste inks and liquid inks. It specifies two test methods: the line trace method and the particle method. A dual-grooved scraper fineness gauge with a range of 0–25 μm or a single-grooved scraper fineness gauge with a range of 0–50 μm is used for testing. The testing environment is controlled at 23 ± 2°C, and the ink must be pre-equilibrated to a constant temperature. For the line trace method, the ink is scraped evenly within 7–10 seconds, and the scale value corresponding to the scratch mark is recorded. For the particle method, scraping is completed within 3 seconds, and the dense particle band is observed within 5 seconds. The standard clearly requires three parallel tests, with the error not exceeding the minimum scale value of the scraper gauge. It also includes specifications for result processing, precision, and test reports.
