GB/T 611-2021 "Chemical Reagents—General Method for the Determination of Density" specifies three general methods for determining the density of liquid chemical reagents: the pycnometer method (arbitration method), the Westphal balance method, and the oscillating liquid density meter method. It is applicable to the density testing of various liquid chemical reagents. The test requires an analytical balance with a sensitivity of 0.1 mg, a 25–50 mL pycnometer, a compliant Westphal analytical balance or an oscillating liquid density meter, paired with a constant-temperature water bath with a temperature control accuracy of ±0.1°C. Through precise weighing or vibration frequency detection, combined with the density of water at 20°C, the density of the sample is calculated, providing fundamental data for the quality control of chemical reagents.
