GB/T 2539-2023
Determination of melting point of petroleum waxes—Cooling curve method

This standard specifies a method for determining the melting point of solid petroleum wax using the cooling curve method. The principle involves measuring the temperature plateau (stagnation period) caused by phase change during the cooling of molten wax in air, with the corresponding temperature being the melting point. To implement this method, fully automatic petroleum wax melting point testers have become mainstream testing equipment. These instruments automatically perform cooling, mechanical stirring, temperature curve plotting, and stagnation period determination. By collecting data through high-precision sensors, they automatically report and store results, achieving a high degree of automation in the testing process and objectivity in the results.
