Formaldehyde Sensor

Formaldehyde sensors detect the concentration of formaldehyde in the air through electrochemical or semiconductor principles. The electrochemical type utilizes the oxidation-reduction reaction of formaldehyde at electrodes to generate current signals, while the semiconductor type relies on changes in material resistance caused by formaldehyde adsorption. These sensors are used in areas such as indoor air quality monitoring, detection of formaldehyde emissions from building materials, and industrial process control.
Selection
When selecting, consider a detection range covering 0-10 ppm, with a resolution of 0.01 ppm. Electrochemical sensors have a lifespan of about 2 years, while semiconductor-type sensors have a longer lifespan but require regular calibration. Pay attention to cross-interference; the selectivity ratio for common VOCs such as ethanol and toluene should be greater than 5:1. The operating temperature range is 0-40℃, and the output signal should be compatible with data acquisition equipment.
