Barcol Impressor

The Barcol hardness tester measures hardness by pressing a spring-loaded indenter into the material surface and converting the indentation depth into a hardness value. It is used for rapid testing of the surface hardness of soft metals, plastics, and composite materials, making it suitable for on-site quality control and material acceptance.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the material hardness range with the instrument's measuring range, and ensure the test piece thickness is at least 10 times greater than the indentation depth. Prioritize models with a flat support base to ensure testing stability, and verify the validity of the metrological calibration certificate. For thermoplastic materials, use the Barcol indenter, while for thermosetting materials, a Barcol/Rockwell dual-purpose type may be selected.
