Principle
The PosiTector BHI1 hardness gauge applies pressure to the surface of the material through the indenter, measuring its Hardness value and displaying it in Barcol units. The device uses digital technology to ensure High Accuracy and Reliability, in line with international standards such as ASTM B648/D2583. It supports multiple calibrate options and Hi-RES mode to optimize Measurement accuracy for different application scenarios.
Applications
Aluminium production, forgings, castings, material inspection, FRP/GRP-fibre and fiberglass reinforced plastics, Duro or hard thermoplastics, degree of curing of composites
Standards
ASTM B648/D2583、DIN EN 59、AS/NZS 3572.22
Steps
1. Turn on the device power supply
2. Select Measurement mode (e.g. Hi-RES mode)
3. Align the Probe indenter to the surface of the test material
4. Apply pressure for measurement and observe the screen countdown
5. Read and record Hardness values
6. Monitor measurement results with HiLo alarm function
7. Connect PosiSoft software via USB, WiFi or Bluetooth for data management
8. To calibrate if necessary, use the 1 point or 2 point calibrate option
9. Save measurement data, including date and time stamps
Notice
• Make sure the equipment is calibrated correctly before use, refer to the calibrating certificate
• Avoid prolonged use in extreme environments such as high temperatures or corrosive substances
• Regularly check the indenter and tools to ensure no damage
• Keep Probe vertical during measurement to avoid tilt affecting accuracy
• Pay attention to backup when storing data to prevent loss
• Follow safe charging guidelines when using alkaline or rechargeable batteries
• Ensure stable network connection when software is updated
• Pay attention to the HiLo alarm prompt when measuring outside the user-specified limit
