Dual-Channel Paint Fineness Gauge

The double-channel fineness gauge is a metal plate with two parallel grooves, used to measure the maximum particle size of pigments or impurities by scraping the coating into the grooves and observing the position where particles become visible. It is employed to control the dispersion uniformity of coatings and inks, preventing surface roughness of the coating film. It is suitable for rapid on-site testing of raw material fineness during production.
Selection
When selecting, consider the viscosity range of the material being tested; choose a groove type with greater depth for high viscosity. Determine the measuring range according to industry standards, with common specifications such as 0-25μm and 0-50μm. Stainless steel material is corrosion-resistant, and the groove walls should be free of scratches. A dual-groove design allows for simultaneous testing and comparison of two groups. The scraper should fit tightly against the groove surface.
