Mold Glossiness Meter

The mold gloss meter quantifies gloss values by measuring the intensity of specularly reflected light from the sample surface, illuminated by a light source at a fixed angle. It is used to detect the reflective properties of surfaces of products such as plastics and coatings, controlling appearance quality in production lines and laboratories.
Selection
Select the corresponding measurement angle based on the common gloss range of the material being tested: use a 20° angle for high-gloss surfaces, a 60° angle for ordinary materials, and an 85° angle for matte materials. Consider the ease of instrument calibration and ensure the measurement aperture is compatible with the actual sample size, while also verifying the traceability of the standard plate.

Gloss meter measures the surface brightness of packaging film.
This article introduces the principle and method of using a gloss meter to measure the surface glossiness of packaging films. The gloss meter quantifies the specular reflection capability of a surface in gloss units by measuring the ratio of reflected light from the sample to that from a standard plate.

Application of Gloss Meter in Gloss Measurement of Varnish Coatings
A gloss meter is used to measure the gloss of varnish coatings by detecting surface-reflected light to quantitatively assess the appearance of the coating. The measurement is based on the principle of specular reflection of light, commonly employing angles such as 20°, 60°, and 85° to correspond to different gloss ranges, and follows standard formulas for calculation.
Glossmeter 75-degree angle measurement for paper gloss
This article introduces the principle and method of measuring paper gloss using a 75-degree specular gloss meter. Gloss is defined as the ratio of the light reflected from the paper surface to that reflected from a standard reference plate, with the 75-degree angle commonly used for measuring medium to high gloss papers.
Three-angle gloss meter for evaluating coatings with different gloss levels
Glossiness is a key indicator for evaluating the optical properties of a surface, defined as the ratio of the reflected luminous flux to the incident luminous flux, typically expressed as a percentage or in gloss units.
Method for measuring the gloss of ink surfaces using a gloss meter
This article introduces the method of measuring the surface gloss of ink using a gloss meter. Gloss is a key indicator of the visual quality of ink, and the instrument quantifies gloss by measuring reflected light at specific angles.
The use of a gloss meter in evaluating the surface gloss of printing paper and art paper.
Gloss meters quantify paper gloss by measuring surface reflected light, with 20°, 60°, and 85° angles commonly used for high, medium, and low gloss surfaces, respectively. The gloss characteristics of printing paper and art paper differ, so the appropriate measurement angle should be selected based on the estimated gloss level.
Determination of specular gloss: Selection criteria for instruments at different angles (20°/60°/85°)
Specular gloss is a measure of a material's ability to reflect light, calculated by comparing the reflected luminous flux of a sample with that of a standard plate. Three angles—20°, 60°, and 85°—are commonly used for measurement, corresponding to high-gloss, medium-gloss, and low-gloss surfaces, respectively.
