Overview
JFL QLP paint levelling scratch tester is a special test equipment designed and manufactured according to ASTM and D2801 standards. It is generally used in conjunction with a sag tester to test the levelling (dispersion) and sag properties of coatings during construction and drying. In order to achieve the required surface effect, comparative tests are carried out. The equipment saves time through special project tests, and can quickly judge whether the product is qualified or not, so as to quickly adjust the formula.
Features
1. Designed and manufactured in accordance with ASTM and D2801 standards
2. Can be used with sag tester
3. Provide a variety of groove depth specifications: 0.1/0 2/0.3/0.5/1 and 0.25/0 5/1.0/2.0/4
4. Test design for special projects, saving test time
5. Quickly judge the product qualification and facilitate formula adjustment
Principle
The measuring device forms coatings of different thicknesses on the surface of the paint through scrapers with different depths of grooves, observes the levelling (dispersion) and sag performance of the paint during construction and drying, and comprehensively evaluates the surface effect characteristics of the paint by using it in conjunction with the sag tester.
Applications
Coating leveling test, coating sagging test, coating formulation development, coating mass testing
Steps
1. Prepare the paint sample to be tested
2. Select the appropriate groove depth specification
3. Place the tester on the test substrate
4. Uniform scraping to form coatings
5. Observe the leveling performance of the paint during application and drying
6. Comprehensive evaluation with sag tester
7. Record test results and determine product conformity
Notice
• Check whether the tester is in good condition before use
• Select the appropriate groove depth for testing
• Uniform force should be maintained when scraping
The test environment should comply with relevant standards
• Pay attention to operation coordination when used with the sag tester
• Regularly clean and maintain the tester
