Overview
The Defelsko Positector UTG M3 ultrasonic wall thickness measurement instrument is an advanced model of the UTG M series. It adds more functions than the UTG M1, supports 100,000 Data storage, and can transmit data wirelessly and display graphics in real time for easy Data analysis. The instrument uses a 5MHz contact multi-echo Probe with paints coating penetration function. It can measure material wall thickness without removing coatings. The thickness range is 2.5~ 125mm.
Features
1. High contrast ratio color LCD
2. A scanning band with adjustable Gain and screenshot functions for further analysis and recording
3.B scan shows the cross-sectional profile of the test material
4. Can store 100,000 measurement readings, up to 1000 batches
5. Store thickness, profile and environment measurements in a single batch
6. Screen batch annotations, add annotations, variable batch names, and more with the new built-in QWERTY keyboard
7. WiFi technology Wireless sync to PosiTector.net, download software updates, and connect to mobile devices for more extended functions
Principle
The UTG M3 ultrasonic wall thickness measurement instrument uses 5MHz contact multi-echo Probe technology with wear-resistant aluminum oxide probes to ensure accurate and reliable readings by averaging 3 or more echoes with multi-echo technology. The technology automatically ignores the Coating thickness and enables paints coating penetration, allowing measurement of material wall thickness without removing coatings, while supporting free switching of single and multi-echo modes to suit different measurement needs.
Applications
Measurement of the thickness of metallic materials with paints coated on the surface, sand blasting materials or Miscellaneous applications requiring durable wear-resistant contact surfaces
Steps
1. Two or three point calibrating
2. Select Measurement mode (Single or Multiple Echo)
3. Use Probe to contact the surface of the tested material
4. Read and store measurement data
5. Transfer data via WiFi or USB interface
6. Data analysis with built-in software
Notice
• Probes are paint-penetrating, but ensure the surface is clean for accurate readings
• Multi-echo mode for coating penetration measurement, single-echo mode for detecting pits and defects
• Pay attention to batch management when storing data to avoid data confusion
• Regularly calibrate instruments to ensure Measurement accuracy
Use proper batteries and pay attention to Protection Ratings to avoid use in extreme environments
