Overview
PN-BSTF Buick Smoothness tester is a High Accuracy testing instrument designed according to national standards GB/T456 and ISO5627 to measure the surface smoothness of paper and Cardboard. Smoothness is a key indicator for evaluating the smoothness of paper surfaces. It is evaluated by measuring the time (in seconds) required for air to leak into the sample and the annular surface under specific conditions. The longer the time, the higher the smoothness, usually means better printing quality. The instrument adopts High Accuracy pressure sensor, imported oil-free vacuum pump and lever cam mechanism to achieve mercury-free measurement. It has various functions such as testing, display, data processing and printing. It is easy to operate and has stable performance.
Features
1. Adopt new module circuit design, with WIFI Internet of Things function, test results can be uploaded to Cloud as a Service, and queries and reports can be generated through a dedicated QMS quality management system.
2. Adopt lever and cam clamping mechanism, easy to operate and labor-saving.
3. With statistical function, it can calculate and display the average, MAX Maximum, MIN Minimum, Standard Deviation and Coefficient of Variation.
4. Adopt modern design concept, compact structure, Appearance is beautiful and easy to maintain.
Principle
The Working Principle of PN-BSTF Smoothness tester is based on the Buick (Bekk) method. Under a specific contact state and a certain pressure difference, the time required for a certain amount of air to leak between the sample surface and the annular surface is measured. The instrument monitors the change of Vacuum Level through High Accuracy pressure sensor, and uses the original imported oil-free vacuum pump, volume block and solenoid valve to achieve accurate measurement. The mechanical part uses lever loading and cam unloading mechanism to clamp the sample, and the whole process realizes mercury-free operation.
Applications
Paper smoothness testing, Cardboard smoothness testing, printing quality assessment, paper industry quality control
Standards
GB/T456、ISO5627、TAPPI T479
Steps
1. Prepare the sample to ensure that it meets the test requirements.
2. Turn on the instrument power supply, preheat and calibrate.
3. Place the specimen on the test bench and fix it by means of a lever cam mechanism.
4. Select the corresponding test gear and parameters on the Touchscreen.
5. Start the test, the instrument automatically completes Vacuum Level control, time measurement and data recording.
6. After the test is completed, review and analyze the statistical results (e.g. average, Standard Deviation, etc.).
7. The test report can be output through the printer, or the data can be uploaded to the Cloud as a Service through WIFI.
Notice
• The instrument should be placed in an environment with indoor temperature (20 +/- 10) ° C and relative humidity < 85%.
• Power supply voltage needs to be AC220V +/- 10%, 50Hz, and ensure good grounding.
• Check the vacuum volume and sealing of the system before testing to ensure accurate measurement.
• Operate the clamping mechanism gently to avoid damage to the sample or instrument.
• Regular maintenance and calibrating to ensure long-term stable operation of the instrument.
When using a thermal printer, make sure there is sufficient printing paper.
The networking function needs to be used in a stable network environment.
