Principle
Digital Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge A short ultrasonic pulse is generated by the Sensor to determine the Film thickness of a part or structure by passing through the inside of the material from the outer surface, reflection on the back or inner surface, and returning to the Sensor with an accurate measurement of the time required for this process. The measured bi-directional crossing time is divided by 2 to calculate the penetration and reflection propagation paths, which are then multiplied by the speed of sound in the material.
