Overview
American RDS #60 Mayer Rods (model: 60 #1/2 "), also known as Applicator rod, is specially designed for the inks industry, used for coating bar Moulding, measuring the hiding power, color, Gloss and other performance of film and color correction. The Applicator rod can be Spreader thickness is 137.2 microns, the effective application width is 300mm, and there are 50mm hand-held parts at both ends to ensure uniform force during operation. It is suitable for flat substrates and easy-to-bulge substrates such as paper, foil, etc.
Features
1. Spreader wet film thickness of 137.2 microns, precise control of film performance.
2. Effective application width of 300mm, wide coverage.
3. Both ends are equipped with a 50mm hand grip, which is convenient for even force operation.
4. Made of stainless steel, it is durable and easy to clean.
5. Suitable for a variety of substrates, including flat and easy-to-bulge materials.
Principle
The Applicator rod is designed with a wire-wound, using stainless steel wire to scrape inks on the substrate during the Spreader process to form a uniform wet-film. The user holds both ends to operate, and controls the force and speed to ensure the film thickness is consistent for subsequent performance testing.
Applications
INKS industry
Steps
1. Prepare substrate and inks samples.
2. Applicator rod ends in hand, inks Spreader evenly on the substrate.
3. Spreader speed and force control to ensure wet film thickness of 137.2 microns.
4. After completing the Spreader, it is used for hiding power, color, Gloss and other performance tests.
Notice
• Ensure that the grip part is evenly stressed during operation to avoid uneven film.
• Applicator rod cleaned after use to prevent ink residue.
• Only suitable for Spreader applications with specified thickness and width.
• Avoid use in extreme environments to maintain tool accuracy.
