Overview
American RDS No. 6 Mayer Rods Model 6 #1/2\ "is a Spreader tool dedicated to Spreader 13.7 micron wet film thickness, with a total length of 400mm and an application width of 300mm. RDS provides wire-wound and molded Mayer Rods. The wet film thickness of the same type of coating rod is the same, but the Coating Coating Weight may be different.
Features
1.Accurate wet film thickness of 13.7 microns
2. Provide two types of wire-wound and molding options
3. Wire-wound bar diameter optional 9.5mm, 6.35mm, 12.7mm
4. Forming bar diameter fixed to 6.35mm
5. Total length 400mm, application width 300mm, easy to operate
6. Made of stainless steel, strong durability
7. Steel wire diameter 0.15mm to ensure uniformity of Spreader
Principle
Mayer Rods form a specific gap through the steel wire wound on its surface. As the coating rod rolls on the substrate, the coating passes through the gap to evenly Spreader, forming a wet-film of precise thickness. Wire-wound and molded bar are slightly different in structure, but both implement Spreader based on the principle of gap control.
Applications
Coating Spreaders, laboratory testing, quality control, film prepatives
Steps
1. Spreader Substrate and Coatings
2. Coating evenly on the starting end of the substrate
3. Hold both ends of the bar and roll the Spreader on the substrate at constant speed and pressure
4. Ensure that the coating rod is in full contact with the substrate surface
5. Clean bar after Spreader
Notice
• Check whether the bar surface is clean and free of residue before use
• Spreaders maintain uniform speed and pressure
• Avoid the bar colliding with hard objects to prevent damage to the wire
• Clean immediately after use to prevent Coating curing
• Select the appropriate bar type according to the Coating characteristics
• Coating Coating Weight of wire-wound and molding bar may be different, you need to choose according to actual needs
