Overview
JINGKELIAN QHY Buchholz Cedar tester is a mechanical hardness testing instrument. It measures the Cedar length when pressing on the film, and determines the anti-indentation performance result of the film by the function of the reciprocal of the Cedar length. The Cedar load of this instrument is 500g, the reading accuracy reaches 0.1mm, the measurement is stable, and the operation is simple and reliable.
Features
1. Cedar load of 500g, high accuracy; 2. Reading accuracy of 0.1mm; 3. Stable measurement; 4. Simple and reliable operation.
Principle
The QHY Buchholz Clearance tester measures film Hardness by the Clearance test method. The test instrument includes a steel block with 2 fulcrums, a 500g constant test load, a sharp-edged circular Clearance disc, and a 20x Microscope with a 0.1mm scale and built-in Illuminant. During the test, the tester is placed on the coating surface for 30 seconds to obtain Clearance. Microscope observation shows that the Clearance length is inversely proportional to Hardness, which is expressed as the inverse function of the Clearance length.
Applications
Determination of Paint Film Hardness by Crane Tester
Standards
GB/T9725-88、ISO1518-73、DIN53153
Steps
1. Place the tester on the coating surface; 2. Hold for 30 seconds to obtain Cedar; 3. Observe Cedar with Microscope and Built-in Illuminant; 4. Measure Cedar Length.
Notice
• Ensure that the weight of the Crane device is 1Kg +/- 5g; • The Crane load needs to be controlled at 500 +/- 5g; • Use a Microscope to be accurate to 0.1mm when reading; • Maintain a constant test load during testing.
