GB/T 9640-2008
Flexible and rigid cellular polymeric materials - Accelerated ageing tests

This standard specifies general test methods for simulating the natural aging effects of soft and rigid polymeric foam materials (such as latex, polyurethane, and polyolefin foams) due to oxidation or moisture hydrolysis in the laboratory. The core of the method involves evaluating the durability of materials by comparing changes in relevant physical or mechanical properties before and after specific aging treatments, such as heat aging. Commonly tested properties include tensile strength, compression, or indentation hardness. The key instrument for performing such accelerated aging tests is a high-temperature oven (aging test chamber), and sometimes a humidity aging chamber is also used to simulate humid conditions.
