Scrape varnish stick

The coating rod is a coating test tool used to create a uniform wet film on a substrate by scraping with a metal rod, controlling the film thickness through the depth of the grooves. It is used for quickly preparing coating samples in the laboratory to evaluate the leveling, hiding power, and other properties of coatings. It is also suitable for on-site quality inspections of inks and paints.
Selection
When selecting, consider the compatibility between the substrate surface roughness and testing requirements. The groove width determines the coating thickness, with common specifications ranging from 25 to 300 μm. Stainless steel material resists solvent corrosion, and after use, the grooves should be wiped with solvent to prevent clogging. Note that the straightness error of the rod should be less than 3 μm.
