The handheld magnetic particle flaw detector utilizes the principle of magnetization by applying a magnetic field to the surface of ferromagnetic materials. After sprinkling magnetic particles, surface or near-surface defects such as cracks are detected by observing magnetic particle indications. It is used for non-destructive testing of on-site metal components such as welds and castings.
