Pigment Sag Tester

The paint sag tester evaluates the sag resistance of coatings by observing the flow of paint on a vertically placed coated panel. A blade is used to create a film layer with a thickness gradient, and after drying, the sag limit thickness is measured. This instrument is used to assess the anti-sagging performance of coatings, ensuring coating uniformity in the production and application of paints and inks.
Selection
When selecting, consider that the measurement range should cover the sample thickness, the accuracy must meet standard requirements, the substrate should be compatible with common metals or glass plates, ease of operation impacts testing efficiency, and the equipment material should be resistant to solvent corrosion. Refer to industry standards such as ASTM 4400 to determine technical parameters.
