Metal Surface Hardness Tester

A metal surface hardness tester applies pressure to the metal using an indenter to create an indentation, and the hardness value is calculated based on the size or depth of the indentation. It is used to test the resistance of metal materials to plastic deformation and to assess the degree of material hardening in mechanical manufacturing and heat treatment quality control.
Selection
When selecting, consider the hardness range of the material being tested: use Brinell or Vickers for soft metals, and Rockwell for hard alloys. The thickness of the sample determines the type of indenter; choose a low load for thin samples. Portable devices are suitable for on-site testing, while benchtop models are used in laboratories.
