Shore O Type Hardness Tester

The Shore O durometer uses spring pressure to press the indenter into the surface of the material and calculates the hardness value based on the depth of penetration. It is used to measure the softness and hardness of materials such as soft rubber and sponge. In quality inspection, it helps determine the elasticity of materials, and during production, it monitors the consistency of formulations.
Selection
Select the model based on the thickness of the material being tested; use the O-type for thin materials. Consider the elastic range, and switch to the D-type for overly hard materials. Compare the range required by industry standards, and choose between mechanical or digital display models based on the on-site environment. Regularly verify the condition of the presser needle using standard blocks.
