Hand-Held Viscosity Cup

The handheld viscosity cup reflects viscosity by measuring the time required for a fluid to flow out through a standard aperture. It is used for rapid on-site testing of the fluidity of coatings, inks, and other materials. During operation, the cup is immersed in the sample and then lifted vertically, with the time for the fluid to completely drain being recorded. A longer drainage time indicates higher viscosity. It is suitable for production sites and quality control applications.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the measurement range to the sample viscosity. Common models include Ford cup, Zahn cup, etc. The aperture size affects measurement time, and a larger aperture is suitable for high viscosity. The material should be resistant to corrosion by the sample, with stainless steel suitable for most cases. Temperature affects viscosity, so a thermometer should be used in conjunction. The portable design is suitable for fieldwork.
