Proofing paint stick

The proofing coating bar is a metal or plastic rod with grooves of varying depths engraved on its surface. During use, the coating is spread onto the substrate, and the groove thickness controls the wet film thickness. After drying, a multi-thickness coating strip is formed. It is used for quickly comparing coating properties such as color, hiding power, and leveling, and is applied in laboratories and production sites for formula adjustment and quality inspection.
Selection
When selecting a drawdown bar, consider material hardness, groove depth range, and precision. Stainless steel is wear-resistant and suitable for conventional coatings; plastic avoids metal contamination and is ideal for special systems. The groove depth range should cover common coating thicknesses, and the precision must meet testing requirements. The bar length should be compatible with common substrate sizes, and cleaning and maintenance should be convenient.
