Overview
American RDS #60 Mayer Rods (model: 60 #3/8 ") is an Applicator rod specially designed for the inks industry for coating bar Moulding, which can measure the hiding power, color, Gloss and other performance of the film and repair color. The Applicator rod can have a Spreader thickness of 137.2 microns, an effective application width of 300mm, and a 50mm hand grip at both ends to ensure uniform force during operation. It is suitable for flat substrates and paper, foil and other easy-to-bulge substrates.
Features
1. Adopt wire-wound production process to ensure uniform film.
2. The wet film thickness is 137.2μm, which precisely controls the Spreader effect.
3. Total length 400mm, application width 300mm, wide operation range.
4. Both ends are equipped with 50mm grip parts for easy grip and uniform force.
5. Made of stainless steel, it is durable and easy to clean.
6. The diameter of the steel wire is 1.52mm, and the structure is stable.
7. Suitable for a variety of substrates, including bulge-prone materials such as paper and foil.
Principle
The Applicator rod is a wire-wound design that uses the uniform distribution of steel wires during the Spreader process to scrape inks on the surface of the substrate to form a wet-film of the specified thickness. During operation, the user holds both ends and applies uniform force to keep the film thickness consistent, which is used for performance testing and Color Correction.
Applications
INKS industry
Steps
1. Prepare inks and substrates.
2. Applicator rod 50mm at both ends.
3. Applicator rod placed on the substrate, uniform force for scraping.
4. After Spreader, check film uniformity.
Notice
• Make sure to hold both ends of the hand when operating to maintain even force.
• Applicator rod cleaned after use to avoid inks residue.
• Avoid excessive force on rough or uneven surfaces to prevent damage to Applicator rods.
Store in a drying environment to prevent rusting.
