Overview
The TRUIT TR 1002/3 Ford viscosity cup is a flow time cup designed according to Ford standards for the measurement of the viscosity of liquids. It is precisely made of high-quality aluminum alloy material, with a capacity of 100ml and a 3.40mm small hole at the bottom. The material Tack is evaluated by measuring the time it takes for 100ml of the sample in the cup to flow out of the bottom small hole (25~ 105 seconds), and can be converted into a viscosity value (49~ 220cSt). Widely used in the Coatings, paints and coatings industries, especially in the field of automotive manufacturing and repair.
Features
1. The main material is high-quality aluminum alloy, anodic oxidation treatment, strong durability.
2. The nozzle material is high quality stainless steel, corrosion resistance and high accuracy.
3. The capacity is fixed at 100ml to ensure measurement conformity.
4. The size of the cup body is reasonably designed, with an outer diameter of φ 82mm at the top and an outer diameter of φ 56mm at the cup body, making it easy to operate.
5. Provide a variety of pore size options to adapt to different viscosity measurement needs.
Principle
Ford viscosity cup evaluates viscosity by measuring the time it takes for 100 ml of liquid in the cup to completely flow out of the bottom hole (3.40mm pore size). The flow time (25 to 105 seconds) is related to the liquid viscosity (49 to 220cSt), which can be converted to a viscosity value using a specific formula to quantify the flow characteristics of the material.
Applications
Coatings, paints, coatings industry, automotive manufacturing, automotive repair
Standards
ASTM D1200、ASTM D333、ASTM D365
Steps
1. Prepare Ford viscosity cup and liquid sample to be tested.
2. Pour the liquid into a cup to a 100ml capacity.
3. Start the Timer and record the time for the liquid to completely flow out of the bottom hole.
4. Use the formula to convert the viscosity value according to the outflow time.
Notice
• Make sure the cup body and nozzle are clean before use to avoid residues affecting the Measurement accuracy.
• Keep the cup level during operation to prevent tilt from causing outflow time errors.
• Select the appropriate pore size according to the liquid viscosity range to ensure that the outflow time is within 25 to 105 seconds.
• Regularly check the nozzle for abrasion, and replace it in time if it is damaged to ensure accuracy.
