Overview
The Levelling Applicator is a special tool for levelling performance testing of surface materials such as coatings, paints, coatings, etc. It is used to simulate and evaluate the surface mass and uniformity of coatings before drying. The Levelling Applicator QAG 100~ 1000μm models have a groove depth of 100/200/300/500/1000μm respectively. It is made of S136 wear-resistant stainless steel and has a total length of 120mm. It meets the ASTM D2801 standard.
Features
1. Made of S136 wear-resistant stainless steel, it is sturdy and durable.
2. Provide multi-specification groove depth selection, covering the range of 100μm to 1000μm.
3. Overall length 120mm, designed to comply with ASTM D2801 standards.
Principle
The Working Principle of the Levelling Applicator is based on the flowability of the coating on the construction surface. By scraping 5 pairs of 10 coating marks of different depths on the horizontal or vertical surface, observe the distance between each pair of films after film drying, and select the minimum spacing film thickness as the levelling data. During the test, the coating is evenly scraped on the test plate to observe its flow performance to evaluate whether it can smoothly fill grooves or flat surfaces and form a uniform film.
Applications
Coatings, paints, coatings and other surface materials levelling performance testing
Steps
1. Apply the coating evenly to the test plate or sample surface.
2. Use the Levelling Applicator to scratch out 5 pairs of 10 coating marks of different depths.
3. Wait for the film drying.
4. Observe and measure the distance between each pair of membranes.
5. Select the minimum spacing of the film thickness as the leveling data.
Notice
• Make sure the paint is even before testing.
• The scraping operation needs to be kept stable to obtain accurate coating marks.
• Observation and measurement after the film through drying.
• Clean the instrument in time after use to avoid paint residues affecting subsequent tests.
