Overview
Ford viscosity cup (Ford Cup) is a standard test equipment for viscosity measurement of coatings, coatings and similar substances, usually used for quality control and research and development in the coatings and coatings industry. Ford-2 #Ford viscosity cup has an outflow aperture of 2.53mm and is made of aluminum alloy. The cup nozzle is made of stainless steel. The viscosity measurement range is 25-120cst. It is suitable for coating, paints and inks viscosity testing.
Features
Meets multiple American Society for Testing and Materials standards (ASTM D1200, D333, D365).
2. Using aluminum alloy cup body and 304 stainless steel nozzle, sturdy and durable.
3. The outflow aperture is accurate and the viscosity measurement range is clear (25-120cSt).
4. Capacity standard, approximately 100ml.
Principle
The Ford viscosity cup is based on the relationship between the flow rate and the viscosity of the liquid. Under certain conditions, the liquid in the Ford viscosity cup will flow out of a fixed hole, and the time to flow out is used to evaluate the viscosity of the liquid. For testing, the cup is filled with the liquid to be tested, and then the cup is turned upside down and fixed on a bracket, and the liquid flows out through the small hole. The viscosity of the liquid can be calculated by measuring the time it takes for the liquid to flow out of the small hole.
Applications
Paints, paints, inks viscosity testing
Standards
ASTM D1200、ASTM D333、ASTM D365
Steps
1. Turn the Ford viscosity cup upside down and fix it on the bracket.
2. Fill the cup with the liquid to be tested.
3. Let the liquid flow out through the small hole in the bottom of the cup.
4. The measurement of the time required for the liquid to completely flow out of the small hole.
Notice
• Please make sure the cup body and flow hole are clean and drying before use.
• Make sure the cup is upside down and fixed firmly during measurement.
• The outflow time should be measured within the specified range (40-100 seconds).
• Please select the appropriate model according to the viscosity range of the liquid to be tested.
