RefractoMeter for Brix Measurement

Refractometers (Brix meters) measure solute concentration by detecting changes in the refractive index of light passing through a liquid. By placing a prism in contact with the sample, the refractive index is read and directly converted into Brix values. They are used for concentration testing in food processing, such as juices, beverages, and sauces, as well as for monitoring solution concentrations in the chemical industry.
Selection
When selecting, consider a measurement range that covers common brix levels of 0-90% with an accuracy of 0.1%. Handheld models are suitable for on-site rapid testing, while benchtop models are more appropriate for laboratory use. Pay attention to the temperature compensation function and calibrate using distilled water. For small sample volumes, choose a micro model; for viscous liquids, opt for a model with a flow cell.
